A Long Overdue Update On Terraria: Legends, and how YOU can help ME!
Hello readers, long time no see!
Or, long time no read? I don't know...which is funnier?
Anyways! I thought it's about time I shared some news about the Terraria: Legends books you've been constantly asking me about!
First off, on a more serious note, I'd like to apologize for my lack of updates on the blog and my Twitter. In this blog post, I hope to clear up what's taking so long and what's the current status of the books!
I'll write this post in a Q and A setup to hopefully answer any questions you may have. As always, if you have other questions, feel free to comment on here or email them to me!
Let's get started!
Q: Where's the next Terraria: Legends book?! The last one ended on a cliffhanger!
A: Ah, getting right to the point, are we? This is the most frequently asked question and probably the longest to answer. Bear with me!
As I continued to write and release the books, it was clear that all of you LOVED them! Right around when Mechanical Menace was released, I decided to get in touch with Re-Logic (the developers of the game) and ask if they would be interested in making the Terraria: Legends books OFFICIAL!
Readers of my books already know that I make it clear multiple times on the title page, cover, and front matter that the books are NOT "official" Terraria products. With how popular they became and how much you all loved them, I figured why not try to make them "officially" endorsed by Re-Logic!
(To be clear, I wanted Re-Logic to make them "official" as in they "approve" of the stories and think they do the game justice. "Justice" as in full of action and excitement, but very little swearing, no sexual context, etc. Everything that happens in the books would remain non-canon, which means the stuff may not actually happen in the game. Make sense?)
I got in touch with Re-Logic, and excitingly enough, they were interested in the idea of making the books official! We talked back and forth for a while before I slowly lost contact with them. That wasn't too much of a surprise to me, as clearly that have plenty of work they're busy with over there!

So, long story short, the next book is currently NOT being worked on until I hear back from Re-Logic!

Q: WHAT?! Why are they being so mean?!
A: Actually, they're NOT being mean! The people I talked to were very pleasant and interested in the idea of making the books official!
Q: Okay, cool! What's next then? I want that next book!
A: Great! I'm SO grateful to see that even after all this time waiting, my readers STILL want to get that next book (and hopefully many more!) But how could we make that happen?
I think that's where YOU come in!
I'm asking that any of you readers who check this blog or read my books reach out to Re-Logic however you can to let them know you want more of these books!
Q: YEAH! We'll yell at them and be mean!
A: NO! When I say reach out, I mean reach out NICELY! Tell them how much you LOVE the books! Or, better yet, tell them how much the books inspired you to play their GAME and create and explore! Tell any of your friends who read the books to do the same and ask Re-Logic for more Terraria: Legends books by H. W. Dante!
Q: Sounds great! I'd love to help you, but I don't know how to talk to Re-Logic...
A: No problem! The easiest way would be to send them an email!

Additionally, if you'd rather mail them a letter or a cool drawing that says how much you love my books, you can probably send it to their public office address!

A: Um, NO! While I appreciate how excited you are, that's the WRONG thing to do! All I'm asking is that you take a little bit of your time to write them a NICE letter or email that says how much you love my books and want more! I think it'd be okay to send them a few emails or letters, but don't overdo it!
Q: Oh, okay! So write or email Re-Logic a nice message saying I love your books! Anything else?
A: Nothing else to it really! Just make sure they know you're talking about MY books!

A: That's up to YOU! The sooner a lot of you get in touch with Re-Logic, the sooner they may get back in touch with me! Then that means I'll know if I can keep writing the books or not!
We don't know for sure what Re-Logic's response will be, but I know WE CAN DO IT!

When are the books going to be available? I still haven't read the 5th one.

ReplyDeleteHello! I'm a big fan of your books! I read books 1-3, but when I looked for the next ones, I couldn't find them anywhere... and I REALLY want to get my hands on books 4 and 5. So if they are somewhere, can you PLEASE tell me where I can find them? Thanks!

ReplyDeleteInstead of making this gem official they went on and made their own graphic novel with 50 Amp Studios. Sometimes you love Re-Logic, sometimes you hate them.
